Biography

R. Martyn Westerman has resided in the Steveston/South Richmond area since 2004.

His desire to pursue a career as a BC Notary Public stemmed from a deep sense of, and commitment to, the community in which he lives; Martyn is an active member (and Past President and Secretary) of the Rotary Club of Steveston.

Martyn’s professional life has included working as a professional musician, university academic and lecturer, in senior management positions at the BBC in London (England) and at RTE in Dublin (Ireland); more recently, he has worked in real estate and property management.

Martyn was among the first cohort of BC Notaries Public to gain the degree of Master of Arts in Applied Legal Studies at Simon Fraser University and, as a commissioned Notary Public, he is required to participate annually in continuing education programs to ensure that his legal knowledge is current.

Martyn is also an experienced Executor and a qualified Civil Mediator.
